The Royal Alberta Museum
We went to the Museum yesterday. A and Z came along as a kind gesture when I said I wanted to see the exhibit of classic toys based on the 1996 book by David Hoffman: Kid Stuff: Great Toys from Our Childhood - but it turns out they enjoyed as much as I did. There were all
kinds of hands on things...hula hoops, yo yos, View Masters, LEGO, Colorforms, Magic 8 Balls, Etch-A-Sketch, etc. etc. etc. All of the toys, of course, were partnered with a funky display and history/story of origin. Z thought the kid in this picture was him at first... It was well worth the $20 for the 3 of us to get in - if you are interested check it out soon, as it's only here until Jan 9. (If you go on Saturday or Sunday between 9 and 11 it's half price.) Z also enjoyed the Wild Alberta section of the museum - I never really noticed before, but the physical layout of this section is really well suited to exploring toddlers, I was impressed. And so was Z.
check out Kid Stuff, it's the link with the Mr. Potato Head.
