like father like son

Those who know me know that I like to get things for free, and my son is beginning to show signs of following in my footsteps...in a most creative way. He ran into Purdy's while at the mall today, and exclaimed, "trick or treat!", with a big grin on his face. It didn't work, but you have to give the toddler credit for trying.

fairly useless

I've been fairly useless today. Not totally useless, I did hang 7 pictures - it is nearing the 6 month mark at this house, and that's usually about how long it takes us/me to get settled and actually start putting things up on the walls. I've moved 14 times in 12 years, and yes, it usually takes about 6 months. But, other than the 7 pictures, fairly useless. Not that I don't have ideas for things to do, that has never been a problem, in fact, there's a long list of things that I could be/should be doing. Here are some current ideas in no particular order, simply as they fall out of my head through the fingers on the keys: finish building shredder cubbyhole/secret passage to Z's new under-basement staircase hideout, add electricial outlet in laundry room, replace ancient weatherstripping on door to garage, build shelf in garage, put together SOMETHING out of that $50 handyman special that I picked up at IKEA 2 months ago, call someone to come fix our washing machine, practice Christmas songs on my accordion, paint something, take more cool pictures of my toys, sell stuff on ebay, hang the mirror in the bathroom, pick up the toys in the backyard, finish digging up the new flower bed in the front yard...the list isn't really that long I guess, but when I wake up tomorrow, I'll have another list, just as long, with a whole bunch of different things on it. And what did I do today? I watched Kingdom of Heaven, walked to the Burns' house for tea and a visit, and putzed around a lot. Z's feeling sick and needs lots of attention, so I guess that's a bit of an excuse, but still, I've been fairly useless. I think I'll go drink some vanilla tea with Grand Marnier. Not like it'll get me to do something...but I'm sure it will taste good.
